Delicioso! This Venezuelan restaurant is a true gem. The food is absolutely incredible. I have had their fried arepas and parilla, and both were packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. The staff is warm and friendly, making the experience even better. I have been back twice now and each time I try something new it is just as delicious as the last. Highly recommend.

The cachapa is a must-try—so rich and satisfying—and the tequeños are perfect little bites of cheesy heaven. I also love the variety of refreshments, especially Venezuelan sodas and was seriously impressed by the canned sangria, easily the best I’ve had! The homemade salsa tártara instantly brought me back to my childhood in Venezuela. It’s those little touches that make Cocoa’s feel so special. The space is spotless, well-organized, and beautifully decorated. It feels modern but still cozy and family-friendly. The staff is so kind, welcoming, and informing which makes the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of place you want to bring your friends and family to, and then keep coming back for more.

This was a popping Venezuelan joint. The owner was super nice and they had a varied menu. I got the Patacon fried plantain sandwich and it was quite a treat. Most of the things in the menu have plantains and you have the option to choose from Savory or Sweet plantains. Would definitely recommend if you are in Sarasota.
